Alex Labat is an award winning former television broadcast news presenternews producer and reporter turned Twitch Partner ( A lifelong Louisiana resident, Labat worked for KATC TV 3, the ABC affiliate in Lafayette, Louisiana for a number of years. Starting in the production department and working his way up to anchoring the weekend broadcasts, Labat transitioned from the traditional broadcast medium to streaming on Twitch in 2020. In 2022, Labat was invited to the Twitch Partner program. He streams a variety of different video games, but mainly focuses on roleplaying in Grand Theft Auto V as Mr. Delicious in the NoPixel roleplay server.

Who is Labat?

Alex Michael Labat (born 1988), also known as Labat is an American Twitch streamer. Best known for role-playing the character Maximilian Delicious on the popular Grand Theft Auto role-playing server NoPixel[1]. He has previously worked as a news anchorproducer and reporter at KATC Communications.[2]

Early life and education

Born in Houma and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. Attaining his education from Prairie Elementary, Edgar Martin Middle, and Acadiana High School. In 2006, he graduated from Acadiana High School[3][4] and enrolled at University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication where he majored in Broadcasting and minored in English.[5]

In 2013 he was runner up at the Tribeca Film Festival’s #6SecFilms Vine Competition.[6]

In 2016, Alex Labat and Ashley Guidroz got married.[7]



News reporting

Labat joined KATC Communications, the ABC News Affiliate in Lafayette, Louisiana in May 2012 as a reporter and worked his way up to weekend anchor after being behind-the-scenes in the production department for over a year.[8]

In 2015 he was first on scene at the Grand Theater Shooting.[9] Labat’s coverage was picked up by BuzzFeed News, CNN and the BBC.[10][11][12] He was awarded the “Reporter of the Year” award from the Louisiana Associated Press for his coverage of the event in 2016 as a reporter and news anchor.[13]

In 2018, working directly with Google, he was able to add Acadiana (Cajun Country) to Google Maps, Earth and Google Search Results as an officially recognized geographical region, which lead him to working as Director of Search Engine Optimization for the past three years (started in 2019).[14]


He started livestreaming on in June 2020.

On April 8th, 2021, he was accepted to the whitelisted NoPixel server where he first introduced Maximilian Delicious, aka Mr. Delicious.

Labat received an invitation to the Twitch Partner program on July 22, 2022.[15]
